Enter The ScribbleVerse: A Sonic Odyssey with Chromadadata

Me and Chromadadata have been making music together for about 10 years now, but this is actually our first official release as a duo. We’ve got a lot of history, and this project feels like the right time to finally share it.

A big part of this album comes from old sessions we started years back. Some of these songs are five years old or more—stuff we had half-finished and sitting on the hard drive. We went back, dusted them off, and finally gave them the attention they deserved. The rest of the tracks are new, so the album is really a mix of our past ideas and where we’re at now.

It originally started as music for a short film about Scribe, but it grew way past that. We ended up with 20 tracks—jazzy, soulful hip hop with a mellow vibe. We also pulled in some friends: Aaron Alexander and Ubi on vocals, Dom Sanders on bass, Peter Schlamb on vibraphone, Octavio Santos on trumpet, and Tina Sol on strings.

You can preview the whole thing on Bandcamp, and it’s $10 if you want to grab the full album.

For us, this release is about finishing what we started years ago and finally putting our collaboration out there in an official way. If you’re into jazzy hip hop and laid-back grooves, give it a listen and Enter The ScribbleVerse.
